January 18, 1973 Bradford, UK St. George's Hall Setlist: Rock and Roll, Over the Hills and Far Away, Black Dog, Misty Mountain Hop, Since I've Been Loving You, Dancing Days, Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, The Song Remains the Same, Rain Song, Dazed and Confused (incl. San Francisco), Stairway to Heaven, Whole Lotta Love (medley incl. Everybody Needs Someone To Love, Let That Boy Boogie, (You're So Square) Baby I Don't Care, Blue Suede Shoes, Let's Have a Party, I Can't Quit You Baby), Immigrant Song. Myself and a group of friends attended this concert which was phenomenal to say the least. After the gig a few of us hung around and Jimmy and Robert came out onto the stage to talk to us and we went onto the stage with them. We chatted for 10 or 15 minutes. I plainly recall 2 questions that I asked the guys - I asked Jimmy how long he had played guitar to which he replied "too f***ing long!" and then went on to tell me. I asked Robert will you be coming back to Bradford? He said "definately - it's been a great night, it may take a little while but we'll be back" In view of their recent successful concert on 10th December 2007, I challenge the guys to make good on this promise and come back to St George's Hall - you'll be made VERY welcome! Gareth Nolan 12th December 2007 Our gratitude that Led Zep appeared in West Yorkshire led to such long appreciation after every song that the band commented on it at the end of the tour. After skiving off 6th form to queue for tickets it was the best 90 pence anyone could spend, if the sound was a bit poor for the opening number 'rock n roll.' I remember it was like being at a tennis match watching the girls heads moved from side to side watching Robert Plant move across the stage. Hi, in 1973 I worked in a rock club in Leeds and the night before the Bradford gig some of the roadies came down to the club , if I remember right it was the lighting crew from the Who and the Zeppelin road crew me and my mate Cris ended up back at the hotel till 6am drinking and smoking with them , they did say J.B. was in a room down the hall but the rest of the band were in Bradford. The following night we ended up sat at the back of the stage looking down at the band , there were about six of us there all well stoned when the band finished the set the roadies called us off and we stood at the exit as the band came off stage and passed us. so if anyone has any pictures of the Bradford gig you will see past the band to six long haired stoners enjoying the music The 1980's being so void of authentic rock, apologies U2, Dire Straits, Guns and Roses and Bon Jovi, I bought the original re-mastered digital around 1991 and I have been been totally loyal ever since, favorite track 'since i've been loving you'. If I had been offered a deal with the devil, I'd have sold my soul to be Jimmy Page 1969 -79. Now living in the Phillipines I only wish they would play 'out here' if only in neighbouring Singapore and introduce my growing family to Led Zep as they're already acquainted with the later Beatles. What a great show. Robert's voice is still rough although the emotion comes pouring through as always. The instrumental machine is unbelievable though. Black Dog is a wonderful example of the three playing off of each other, and Dazed And Confused is incredible. Page and Bonham have this amazing interplay, and Jones and Bonham throw in just about every time signature at the drop of a hat, creating a great effect. The medley is long and excellent ... Plant throws so many obscure references in ("Well all need someone to cream on"). Zeppelin nearing the peak! Type &fmt=18 at the end of the URL for high quality sound and pix!
