This presentation was recorded at the Stroke Recovery Association's 2021 Building Capacity Training Conference. Lauren Christie is an occupational therapist and PhD candidate at The University of Sydney. She has over 15 years clinical experience in neurological rehabilitation and has held clinical leadership roles in Australia and the United Kingdom. Lauren’s PhD studies have been focused on the implementation and sustainability of constraint induced movement therapy (CIMT) programs in practice. In 2016, she was awarded a NSW Health Translational Research Grant to conduct the Australian Constraint Therapy Implementation study of the Arm (ACTIveARM), a mixed methods implementation study that evaluated whether Constraint Induced Movement Therapy could be translated into routine practice across nine therapy teams at five hospitals in South Western Sydney, Australia. Lauren has published in peer reviewed journals, presented at international and national conferences, provided training in CIMT implementation in Australia and has been awarded over $400,000AUD in research funding. She currently holds a role with St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney, as the Senior Implementation Science Research Fellow – Allied Health, a conjoint role with St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney and the Nursing Research Institute at Australian catholic university. In this presentation, Lauren discusses Constraint Induced Movement Therapy in upper limb rehabilitation.
