Sir Alan Duncan commends pro-Palestine student protesters

Former UK Foreign Office Minister Sir Alan Duncan commended pro-Palestine student protesters, saying they are “filling a moral vacuum created by inadequate politicians”. The former minister of state at the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office said pro-Palestine protesters are not antisemitic “nor are they some part of a sinister Islamist movement”. “They are putting to shame a generation of politicians who seem not to know their history,” he said. Duncan discussed Israel’s actions in Palestine since the Nakba, or catastrophe, of 1948, saying it is “a process that continues even now”. Last month, the Conservative Party said they would be investigating Duncan, after he criticised other party MPs over Israel. The former MP had told LBC the Conservative Friends of Israel group was "doing the bidding" of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
