This project is the final outcome of five years of study at CAD Brussels, created by Charlotte Gardin as part of the M.A. in Interior Architecture & Design. This project explores the potential of the replica as a scenographic and narrative object at the heart of the museum institution. Through the case study of the Lyre of Anthéia, the exhibition highlights the representation of invisible cultural heritage, whose traces have been erased by looting, art trafficking, or natural disasters. The work invites visitors to reflect on the conceptual boundary between the original and its replica, blurring the lines between the real and the fake. By using fiction inspired by reality as a mediation tool, the project questions the role of storytelling in museums of civilization: can the story of the loss of heritage be told through a fabricated object? By confronting traditional techniques with digital technologies, this approach demonstrates that the replica is no longer a simple imitation, but an act of resistance and creation in its own right, capable of making tangible what has disappeared.
