Orange Safe Space is a one-stop approach offering women a full set of services can be of great importance for them at the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Self-stigma, condemnation by society, lack of confidence that help can be provided are among the reasons why women living with HIV remain in situations where they experience violence for many years and do not receive comprehensive support tailored to their needs. Orange Safe Space is one of the forms of support that UNFPA in Belarus working in partnership with governments offers as an alternative to violence, social isolation, alcohol and substance abuse, and emotional distress. The long-term benefits are enormous – for women, their children and families, and for society at large.
