So, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing the political deadlock at the National Assembly resolved anytime in the near future. For some perspective and prospects for Korean politics. we're now joined live in the studio by Dr. Hong Sung-phil, professor at Seoul-based Yonsei Law School. Dr. Hong, welcome to the program. Firstly, Professor Hong. you just saw the president's reaction, the main opposition's response and the ruling party's position. Your thoughts? So, it's quite obvious that yesterday's meeting at the National Assembly didn't go too well. What did the president and the two rival party leaders talk about? What would you say was THE key issue that, in essence, broke down the unprecedented talks? Going into the talks, some had viewed the three-party talks as a litmus test for DP leader Kim Han-gil's leadership skills. Would you agree with that? And now that he has failed to bring about substantial results from the meeting, do you think he could face some resistance within his own party? Of course, at this point. the ruling Saenuri Party leader, Hwang Woo-yea, isn't free of pressure either - especially with a stockpile of bills related to people's livelihoods pending in parliament. What are your short- and long-term forecasts of Korean politics? Dr. Hong Sung-phil, Professor at Yonsei Law School. thank you so much for speaking with us this evening. We appreciate it.
