Earthworks PM40 Piano Mic Demo and Comparison

This is a recording studio demo of the Earthworks PM40 Piano Mic along with comparisons to some of the other microphones we have used in the recording studio. This is a live recording demo showing the difference between using the PM40 by itself along with other mics and also the sound of the other Mics without the PM40. For the mics used, we did not add any EQ, Reverb, Pre-Amp or any adjustment to the recordings. What you are hearing is a direct from the mic into the computer. We used Pro-Tools to track the audio, but again there are absolutely no plugins or any equipment used to enhance or change the sound of the piano into the mics. Hopefully this comparison is helpful for anyone trying to decide on different piano mics to try. We'll be recording a handful of other videos with additional mic placements soon that we also hope will help hear the difference. For several years I have been working with different audio engineers trying to find my favorite mics and mic techniques.
