Grow Remote - Local Leader Retreat, May 2024

Community is at the heart of Grow Remote. Every day, we are inspired by the individual volunteers creating grassroots social impact through their local Grow Remote chapter. These Local Leaders actively coordinate meetups for remote employees across the country and strengthen their local communities by facilitating connections, supporting local businesses and catalysing new friendships between remote employees and their families. In 2024, 96% of Grow Remote event attendees told us they "met with interesting people and had fun", while 78% feel "more connected to their community". By reducing social isolation among remote employees and promoting remote job and training opportunities for locals, these local leaders are supporting the remote ecosystem, making remote employment more visible and accessible to communities across Ireland. In May 2024, the Grow Remote team took a few local leaders to the beautiful Springfield Castle, Co. Limerick, for an overnight retreat. We ran workshops and activities to share learnings about community-building to take home to each of our local communities. Grow Remote holds our Local Leader retreats twice a year (spring and autumn).
