The Amazing Piazza Venezia, Rome

Piazza Venezia is Rome's geographical and historical center. An amazing site to see, whether you drive by or walk around and into the Monument dedicated to Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of a united Italy. Fountains adorn the outside of the remarkable building and sculptures and chariots rise high into the sky. Italy's own "Tomb of the Unknown Soldier" sits atop the first flight of steps up, with the Eternal Flames burning on each side of the "Tomb," guarded by decorated soldiers - who don't blink or smile. Up the next flight of steps takes us to the statue of Vittorio himself, before we head inside, have a couple of drinks and then take the elevator to the highest point of Rome - atop the building. The sights are glorious. A monumental to the start of the road that leads you down to the Roman Forum (coming soon in another video) and the Roman Colosseum (see previous videos!).
