Took some persistence to get them dialed in, but once I found the sweet spots, it was game on. The cold weather didn’t slow down the action. I was targeting deeper waters, where those monster crappie were hanging out, and man, did they deliver! The bite was steady, and I ended up landing some true giants—biggest crappie I’ve ever caught in the winter months. Tips for anyone heading out in these cold conditions: Slow down your presentation: Crappie tend to slow down in winter, so take your time with the jig.
