Peer-E-Tariqat Shaik-Ul-Islam HAZRAT SHAH SYED IMDAD ALI (QSA) His ancestors were known for their political and religious wisdom and had great impact on society. His paternal side traced their lineage to the Holy Prophet ﷺ through Hazrat Syed Ahmad Wali (Qaddas Allahu Sirrahu) who was a great ruler and spiritual leader from Turkestan. His maternal side also traced their lineage to the Holy Prophet ﷺ through Sayydina Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani (Qaddas Allahu Sirrahu). His shaykh (spiritual guide) was the great Sufi Saint, Hazrat Syedna Shah Mohammad Mahdi Al Farooqi (Qaddas Allahu Sirrahu) who was a person with great spiritual insight and miracles (Sahib E Kashf O Karamat). In regards to wordly profession, Hazrat Shah Imdad Ali (Qaddas Allahu Sirrahu) began working as an employee of the Revenue Department in 1829, and was later promoted to Deputy Collector and retired as a Subordinate Judge (Sadar Amin) in 1875. He was a spiritual guide (shaykh) and had many disciples (mureeds) in Bengal and northern India. His greatest disciple was Hazrat Shah Jahangir (I) Mawlana Mukhlisur Rahman (Qaddas Allahu Sirrahu). Hazrat Mukhlisur Rahman Jahangiri (Qaddas Allahu Sirrahu) wanted to leave society for the jungles, but Hazrat Shah Imadad Ali (Qaddas Allahu Sirrahu) told him that he was "Shah E Jahangir" (The One who grips the World) and many people were going to spiritually benefit from him so he should not withdraw from society. Hazrat Shah Imdad Ali (Qaddas Allahu Sirrahu) passed ahead on 6th of Dhul Qaidah in 1304 A.H. (1886 CE) in Bhaghalpur Sharif, Mohalla Kareem, Chak Chapra, Bihar, India.
