The evening also featured special guest Martin Shaw on trumpet. Set One - 'A Kind of Blue' (Miles Davis) 'So What' 'Freddie Freeloader' 'Blue in Green' 'All Blues' 'Flamenco Sketches' The Purcell School Improv Group: Angelica Coupland (Violin), Cole Lam (Piano), Zaki Osahn (Bass), Mahla Costello (Drums), Megan Visagie (Drums) Set Two - 'Speak No Evil' (Wayne Shorter) 'Witch Hunt' 'Fee Fi Fo Fum' 'Dance Cadaverous' 'Speak No Evil' 'Infant Eyes' 'Wild Flower' The Purcell School Jazz Ensemble: Ben Coles (Guitar), Harry Bennett (Tenor Saxophone), Noah Chiari (Baritone Saxophone), Ted Porter (Trumpet), Lewis James (Piano), Zaki Osahn (Bass), Jack Manders (Drums), Freddie Garner (Drums) Special Guest: Martin Shaw (Trumpet) Martin has worked with many leading jazz artists including Cleo Laine, John Dankworth, Pete King, Dick Morrisey, Tim Garland and numerous big bands including the BBC Big Band. Along with session and TV work Martin still finds time to perform with classical ensembles and in West End shows. Martin was a member of Jamiroquai for many years and has recorded, performed live and toured extensively with various pop artists including Sting, Natalie Cole, Paul Young and the Brand New Heavies. Intro ident composed by Sasha Scott The Purcell School is one of the worlds’ finest schools for young musicians aged 10 to 18 and the oldest music school in the UK. Based in Hertfordshire, just outside of London, the School provides a rounded education with music at its heart to around 180 talented students, most of whom go on to the top conservatoires and colleges for music, often with scholarships. Whilst at Purcell, students share a common bond in their passion for music with a community boasting creativity and mutual support. The School puts on nearly 100 events a year including concerts featuring our students and masterclasses with some of the most renowned musicians from across the globe.
