Fievel shows up at 7:20. Dad showed up at the veg patch but by the time I was set up on a bale he was gone. He came back pretty quickly. He spent a while just standing under the first bale. It's pretty quiet visit until the mouse shows up under bale 4. I'm gong to say it's rare to see any bird catch a mouse. Owls if you have night vision but... This is the first mouse I've seen taken. I saw him get a rat once. (I think it was this guy and not Pauly but it was a while ago so I could be mixing them up.) He was watching me mow and a rat bolted out of the long grass. I think it was while the chicks were still in the nest last season. I did take a sick rat of the current lady but...that doesn't count as she didn't catch it. It was quite possible it had been poisoned so... • I steal a rat from a Magpie; 2 bales rejec... At 7:06 he turned and his tail brushed over the back of my hand. I'm sure that's the first time we've touched. He really didn't want to get off that bale. By now he should know the drill. Still, sometimes I'll lift the bale with him or her on it. They get off pretty quickly. I hope the chicks enjoyed the feed. Junior probably swallowed it whole... And I loved the "Fievel goes West!" title and thumb. For any younger viewers who aren't familiar "going west" was a euphemism for dying commonly used by the British during World War 1. Cheers folks!
