That's the case of the French Defense, where Black tries closed the center so that in a slow and positional phase they can maneuver his pieces around. If you want to punish them for such a timid plan, then you should start playing the King's Indian Attack (also known as the KIA). In this favorite Fischer's opening, White's pieces run to the kingside shortly after castling, to create a massive attack over the Black's king. See how White can create an attack from this starting position: KIA White has played only 9 moves and it's already thinking in throwing his pieces to the kingside. The typical white maneuver in the KIA 10.Nf1, followed by h2-h4, Bc1-f4 (to reinforce the important e5-pawn) and finally Nf1-h2-g4, when the threat of destroying Black's position with h4-h5-h6 is almost winning. After a few more moves, the following position arise (left) White has accomplished what every KIA's player want, and now is ready to play the demolishing h5-h6, creating weaknesses on h6 and f6. So Black played 14...h6, to stop that "little" pawn. But, with this move, Black create himself a target for the White's pieces. After 15.Ng4, followed by 16.Qd2, White is pointing to the black h-pawn, and trying to sacrifice a piece there.
