Night time video showing the pattern of the new LED street lighting in various Cornish villages that had their old SOX ( Low Pressure Sodium ) and Metal Halide TW lamps which were more commonly used in the last 8 years for the dimable street lighting but now swapped out for the new LED technology. The new LED street lighting made by theTHORN company comes in various outputs according to where they are installed, the largest ones being used on the main and major road networks, and the lower power smaller types used in surburban areas such as housing estates. The LED street lights in residential streets in a lot of the villages and towns are not only programmed to dim five hours before a calculated Midnight but are switched off at midnight and back on again at 5 am in the morning until daybreak.
