Here I demonstrate one of the last original romantic organs in carinthia. Located in the rural place of Heiligenblut, right before the beginning of the famous Großglockner Hochalpenstraße, a breathtaking street to drive up to 3000m sealevel. It has two manuals with pedal, and 18 speaking stops. Built in 1908 it still is preserved in it's original state with pneumatic action. Interestingly the stop names also have no "foot number", but names like "kontra", "gross", or "klein", hinting on it's musical situation instead of simply writing 16', 8' or 4'. Even the composition of the mixtures is written similar to this (which can be seen in the video at 15:10). Also a very neat feature of this instrument and it's organbuilder: The labiums/mouths of the Flauto travers are actally turned arround 90 degrees, like you would have it on a real transverse flute! Many thanks to the nice people of the parish in Heiligenblut for letting me play this gem up in the mountains with this phenomenal atmosphere! Copyright 2021
