Tools needed: 7/16 socket and extension and Ratchet I used the Whirlpool brand of replacement Agitator Assembly from Amazon. It worked just fine with the splines on the washing machine. I only went this route because it was cheaper than the agitator base. The clothes were not getting clean after washing, and sometimes the powdered laundry soap wasn't dissolving completely.
