Sri Lanka is renowned for its stunning beaches that offer picturesque landscapes and crystal-clear waters. Here are some of the amazing beaches in Sri Lanka. 01)  Arumgambay Beach Arugam Bay in Sri Lanka is known as a surfers paradise and one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka. It is one of those areas in the world you have to visit at least once in a lifetime. Best conditions for surfing, clean white sandy beaches, crimson sunsets, beachfront guest houses and hotels and grand waves; this is what Arugam Bay is about in a nutshell if you prefer to visit Arugam Bay for a holiday. If you travel from Colombo you can reach Arugam Bay in about 7 hours. Both private and public transportation (buses) are available to reach Arugam Bay. 02) Mirissa Beach On the south coast, the fine sands of Mirissa Beach are backed by palm trees, while its clear waters and lively waves make it ideal for both swimming and surfing. Numerous whales can frequently be spotted reasonably close to the shoreline. Additionally, multiple tour operators based in the village offer boat trips to see them during the season, which runs from December to April. 03) Nilaveli Beach The Nilaveli Beach is situated in the coastal town of Nilaveli, which is about 16 km North of Trincomalee. It is a beautiful white sandy beach with waves ideal for surfing, diving and snorkeling. About 2 km into the sea is the famous Piegon Island and further up North is a cluster of reddish rocks known as the Red Rock Beach. Nilaveli is one of the finest and most beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka 04) Hiriketiya Beach Hiriketiya Beach is one of the places we had heard least about when we were planning our 3 week trip around Sri Lanka. It’s an awesome little mushroom-shaped bay that provides pretty mellow waves for beginners, but also has a decent left hand point break for the more advanced surfers.  05) Weligama Beach Weligama refers to ‘Sandy Village’ in the local dialect and is a small fishing town that has recently gained popularity with travellers. Known as the ideal place for beginner surfers, Weligama Beach offers beachgoers ample space to soak up the sun or frolic in the refreshing waters. 06) Beruwela Beach Beruwala is located in a calm bay protected from high waves and fast currents by the natural coral reef. The giant coastline is covered in grainy white sand and surrounded by exotic palms with shadows that save from the heat. The descent is smooth, and the sea bottom is flat and safe. 07) Hikkaduwa Beach Hikkaduwa is one of the best surfing spots in Sri Lanka, offering a clear hot water base. The waves vary in size from 4 to 11 feet. Surfing in the Hikkaduwa area is fairly well known and gets the best surfing during its dry season, which is from November to March. 08) Bentota beach Bentota is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka. It sits on the west coast, runs south from magnificent Bentota lagoon and is lined with a string of alluring hotels.Bentota is also Sri Lanka's watersports hub. Behind the beach, the calm waters of the lagoon are perfect for kayaking and jet-skiing, while boat trips up the river to explore the mangroves and tangled waterways are easy to arrange. 09) Dalawella Beach Dalawella beach is located on the south coast of Sri Lanka in the Unawatuna area and is one of the beautiful Sri Lanka beaches. Though the main beach is pretty nice it’s also a touristy place because of the two main attractions that attracts many people to this beach. 10) Kalkudah Beach Kalkudah Beach is located on the Bay of Bengal and it is in the 8th place out of 235 beaches in the Sri Lanka. The beach is located in an urban area. It is partially covered by trees which give natural shade.
