In this video, as a real urban planner, i'm explaining Part 2 of the disastrous decisions behind every worst designed city in the world. From massive American messes that prioritize parking lots over people to international examples of chaos, these are real world cautionary tales of what happens when urban planning fails. #urbanplanning #citydesign #explained San Antonio: The city built around a single tourist trap (the River Walk) while the other 99% is unwalkable sprawl. Adelaide: Australia's "city of parking lots," a sprawling region with the density of a cornfield and a two-line tram system. Brisbane: The city that spent 30 years planning infrastructure and then built a "Metro" system... using buses. Charlotte: The "doughnut city" that tore down its streetcars for highways, leaving a hollow downtown core. Jacksonville: America's largest city by area, a champion of inefficient sprawl with a completely useless downtown Skyway. Dallas: The city that replaced its historic neighborhoods with parking craters and prioritized suburbs over its own core. Kansas City: The city split by a state line, resulting in zero coordination and a highway-centric mess.
