Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, My Favorite Place, features in my opinion, a unique and must-see place if you're interested in seeing everyday South Vietnam. This video centers around the traditional wholesale market Cho Binh Tay in District 6. This market has been operating for almost 100 years and is itself an adventure. You could easily spend a half-day just hanging out around the market and it's fascinating alleyways full of interesting goods for sale. Kim Bien Market is also known as the notorious chemical market of Saigon but there are plenty of interesting things to see besides it's "market of death" stalls. Trang Tu Market is full of the beautiful bounty of the Mekong Delta and one of the cheapest places to buy fruit in the city. You could easily spend a whole day wandering around District 5 visiting pagodas, churches, historic sites, and take in the marvellous variety of architecture. I'd always wanted to visit Phu Dinh Street to see the exterior of "the bachelor room" of the 1992 film "The Lover". FYI all sex scenes in the movie were filmed in Paris.It's a lovely little pocket of old Cho Lon and I'd come back and spend a little more time around this part of District 5.
