I cannot believe I am even writing this description, feels so surreal to beat something of this difficulty, it feels like it was only a year ago since this was last on the demon list. I know it's only 2 tiers above goldcrest, but it felt like a huge step up for me, by far the most arduous grind of my Gd career. I think I'm also the first UK victor, just going off of the aredl, demon list and considering this only has 26 leaderboard victors but I can't really confirm that. Kinda annoyed that the bottom of the level is cut out due to how I recorded the level but it is what it is. Onto the level itself. For me to have grinded a level as much as I did, it's gotta be a pretty good level. Indeed I adored this level when I first started doing runs but the problems start becoming more apparent when you start playing from 0. I'll start with the predrop. Really good opening to the level, the 1% jump can get pretty attempt grindy but it's not so bad. Pokechat's part took me a while to get consistent at and weirdly enough, I found the last few blue orbs, which are just buffers super hard. That being said, once it got consistent, I could do it without any issues really. Now onto the drop, which is where the level truly begins. Fraggox's wave. This wave was such a massive mind block for me, 13-14 just doesn't get consistent, no matter how much you practise it and when your getting there every attempt it feels like your constantly running into a brick wall, and it never really got any better from start to finish. The structuring at the end of the wave is truly abysmal. Thankfully, the rest of Fraggox is really fun but honestly, does not make up at all for the wave. The other main chokepoint in the first half is Ferrox. This part is very tough and I struggled with it quite a lot but that being said, it did get consistent and I found the part overall, really satisfying to pull off. After Ferrox, the level gets progressively easier until you get to the dual. I didn't really die here too much from 0 and I honestly have no idea how. It's basically just a string of really weird microclicks and it just sucks to play in general. The ufo that follows is brutal, I died there a ridiculous out of times from 0, there just isn't a consistent strat of doing it. Once you pass the ufo the level gets a lot slower and easier. But that just makes it EXTREMELY nerve wracking. I died to the last quarter quite a lot from 0 and I think most of those deaths were solely due to nerves. That being said I really like how this level builds intensity, really fitting for it's theme. As for my experience, despite being a memory level, it really didn't feel like one. With the exception of the dual, which took me forever to get down, I learnt it pretty quickly. Progress would then start coming quick when I started playing from 0, I got 92 pretty damn quickly. Unfortunately, progress would slow down a lot from there. For reference, more time elapsed between me getting 92 at beating the level as opposed to me starting the level and getting 92 which is kinda insane. The chokepoints I mentioned in the first paragraph made this a huge struggle for me. Just had to wait for that one lucky attempt and just try to cool my nerves when getting said attempt and that's exactly what I did. Was not expecting to beat this today at all, got some crazy runs: 11-100 and 22-100 but my consistency from 0 was nothing in comparison but despite that I somehow pulled through. Don't think I'll be beating anything harder than this for a while. I don't really like to share my attempt counts but for reference, I more than doubled my former highest attempt count on a level with this so yeah, it's really fucking hard. Level rating: 8/10 Enjoyment: Idek Difficulty: Insane tier Extreme demon PO: All I can say is that this is lightyears harder than goldcrest palace, I really underestimated this lol Thumbnail by Vasen: / @vasenotchalleng1842 tysm for the support btw, absolute legend
