The “PLAY-ALONG SCALES” series is an invitation to practice scales within a real musical context. Based on the original scale exercises for two violins by Alessandro Rolla, the videos offer a recorded accompanying voice for two-octave scales in a variety of keys. The accompaniment, performed by Marzena Malinowska, is available in several versions, presented in separate playlists: violin in 442 Hz, 430 Hz, and 415 Hz tuning, viola (442 Hz and 415 Hz), in the transposed version. The material is intended primarily for string players, but it is equally valuable for all musicians seeking a harmonic reference point in their daily work on scales and intonation. Each scale concludes with a short miniature in the same key — a moment of musical enjoyment and, at the same time, a practical exercise in sight-reading.
