The Prayer for "Swift" Proclamation: Drawing from 2 Thessalonians 3 and Psalm 147, we learn the importance of praying that the Word of the Lord would "run swiftly and be glorified." This means praying not just for the message to be sent, but for it to triumph over opposition and be honored by those who hear it. Feeding the Sheep vs. Entertaining Goats: A significant challenge in modern ministry is the trend toward shallow teaching and entertainment-driven platforms. We must pray for pastors to have the courage to "feed the sheep" with truth—verse by verse—rather than simply providing a concert or a bake sale atmosphere where the Word is absent. The Limits of Human Methods: While planning and methods have their place, any Christian work that relies solely on human effort without the Word of God is destined to fail. True, life-changing worship is always a "result of truth being proclaimed"; without that truth, lives remain unchanged regardless of outward expressions of devotion. Protecting the Messengers: We have a duty to pray for the preservation of those who preach, asking that they would be delivered from "unreasonable and wicked men" and kept from falling into pride or self-reliance. The Goal of Our Intercession: Our ultimate goal is to see the Word spread throughout entire regions, just as it did in the book of Acts, where people were glad to hear the message and believed. When we stop trusting in our own programs and start publishing the Word of God through prayer, we see the Word's inherent power at work.
