A medical graduate from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi, Dr. Pragati Singh has worked extensively in the public health fields of reproductive, maternal, neonatal, child, and adolescent health. In 2014, she founded Indian Aces, a Facebook page, to form the Indian sub-continent’s first support group for asexual people, and there began her journey towards bridging the gap between science, sexuality, and sexual rights. In 2017, she launched the friend-finding service 'Platonicity', a google form that initially ran through Facebook like Indian Aces, with a goal to one day become a mobile app. The purpose was to have a platform that matches people looking for a non-sexual relationship. She has worked for organisations such as International SOS and the World Health Organization and has been honored by BBC as one of the world’s 100 most inspiring, innovative, and influential women of 2019, for her novel contribution to the sexual and reproductive rights discourse, especially for the asexual and non-sexual women.
