Driving in Tibet, from Nyingchi to Lhasa on Linla Expressway. 🌟 Starting point Linla Highway Entrance, Bayi District, Nyingchi City, Tibet, China 🌟 Ending point Linla Highway Exit, Dagze District, Lhasa City, Tibet, China 🌟 LHASA is the second most populous urban area on the Tibetan Plateau after Xining and, at an altitude of 3,656 metres (11,990 ft), Lhasa is one of the highest cities in the world. The city has been the religious and administrative capital of Tibet since the mid-17th century. It contains many culturally significant Tibetan Buddhist sites such as the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Norbulingka Palaces. 🌟 NYINGCHI, also known as Linzhi and as Nyingtri, is a prefecture-level city in the southeast of the Tibet Autonomous Region in China. The administrative seat of Nyingchi is Bayi District. Part of Nyingchi is disputed and currently administered by India as part of Arunachal Pradesh. 🌟 LINLA EXPRESSWAY, is a section of the Yaye Expressway, a route in the "National Expressway Network Planning (2013-2030)", and the national expressway network number is G4218. The Lin-La Highway starts from Nyingchi City in the Tibet Autonomous Region in the east and Lhasa City in the Tibet Autonomous Region in the west. The Linla high-grade expressway is about 409.2 kilometers in length; the endding point is connected to the Lhasa Ring Expressway. The Linla Expressway is an important part of the Sichuan-Tibet Expressway, and it is also the main passage connecting Central Tibet, the Eastern Tibet Economic Belt and even the Great Southwest of China. The Nyingchi section and Lhasa section of the Linla high-grade Expressway were opened to traffic on September 9, 2015, and the Mimo section and Gongmi section were completed in October 2017.
