Epidermoids are secondary to inclusions of ectodermal tissue within the CNS. Epidermoids contain only squamous epithelium. Epidermoids can appear like a complex arachnoid cyst, but will markedly restrict diffusion. Differential diagnosis includes craniopharyngioma, arachnoid cyst, and lipoma.
