Angel of Compassion is a series of seven mixed-media paintings featuring images of jewels that were originally owned by Elizabeth Taylor and sold by her estate to benefit her AIDS Foundation. Join artist S. P. Harper in conversation with Peter Frank at West Hollywood Library. Employing reclaimed materials, Harper paints and sculpts abstract geometrics, transforming refuse into noble objects. The work fits into eco-centric art to reduce, re-use and up-cycle. Harper synthesizes historical and contemporary styles by combining the classical tradition of still-life with modernism. Peter Frank is an art critic, curator and editor known for curating shows at the Solomon R.
