App Overview - How to Set Up the Intermatic ABRA App for Smart Home Automation

*This video tutorial will walk you through step-by-step instructions for setting up and customizing the Intermatic ABRA app. The ABRA app is simple to set up and customize, with an easy-to-use interface designed to make managing and controlling home automation devices simple. Initial Setup - 0:00 Open the ABRA app and grant permission to receive notifications. Review and agree to the privacy policy and user agreement to proceed. On the following screen, log in with your existing account or create a new one if you're a first-time user. Authorize the app to access your local area network and Bluetooth for connectivity with ABRA devices. Home Screen & Customization - 0:40 Navigate to the top of the home screen where your home is listed as “My House.” Customize your home by clicking on the “House” icon, then selecting “Home Management” to either create an additional home or join another existing home. Rename your home by clicking the arrow next to “My House” to edit. Enter a new name for your home by clicking on the arrow and typing in the desired name. Room Management and Groups - 1:14 Under “Room Management,” click on the arrow next to each room to rename it or to add additional rooms. Create a room group by selecting an option to split your house into areas, like the East-Wing and West-Wing. Adjust room placement or group them by clicking and dragging the horizontal lines next to each room under “Room Management.” Remove unwanted rooms by tapping the red minus circle and confirming by clicking “Delete”. Click “Done” to save your changes. Modify room groups by tapping on the pencil icon next to each group. In the pop-up, add new rooms or edit the group names. To delete a room group, select “Dismiss Room Group” and confirm in the pop-up window. Removed groups revert rooms to “Ungrouped Rooms.” To go to the “Home Settings” screen, click the back arrow. Location Settings - 2:43 Click the arrow next to your location setting to enable the ABRA app to use your location. This allows the scheduling of ABRA devices based on local weather and time of year. You can opt for the default location via GPS or manually enter a location. To go to the “Home Settings” screen, click the back arrow. Adding Members - 3:15 On the “Home Settings” screen, under the “Home Member” section, click “Add Member” to invite new users by creating a new ABRA account for them or by sending an invite via text or email. Specify their role in the home as either a “Common Member” or an “Administrator”. Click the back arrow to go to the “Home Management” screen, then click the back arrow again to return to the main home screen. Managing Devices & Scenes - 3:53 Use the tabs at the top of the screen to navigate to different rooms and manage devices within those rooms. Select specific rooms quickly using the horizontal lines to the right of each room tab. Below the rooms, you can view the current weather conditions based on your location. Underneath the weather, you can browse through your custom “Scenes”, “Lamps”, and “Other Devices” added to each room, with options to horizontally scroll through scenes or collapse device sections using the “caret” icons. On the “Me” screen, change your profile photo, nickname, and time zone by tapping the arrow next to each item. Connect with Alexa or Google Assistant for enhanced voice control and integration into smart home routines. Advanced Settings - 5:42 While on the “Me” screen, you can access advanced settings by tapping the “bolt” icon on the top right. Disable system settings to manually control dark mode. Toggle Dark Mode or follow system settings; manually select Normal Mode or Dark Mode as preferred.
