News2Share spoke to Gabriel and John Shipton, the brother and father of Wikileaks publisher Julian Assange, who the Biden administration is currently fighting to extradite from the United Kingdom and imprison for up to 175 years. Gabriel Shipton says "there's a real opportunity for President Biden and Secretary [of State] Blinken to sort of walk the walk" on international human rights by releasing Assange, and that continuing to prosecute would hurt the nation's credibility. John Shipton says that continuing to prosecute would be a "terrible burden upon President Biden's legacy." "Removing the prosecution of Julian Assange would be a great gift to the United States," he adds. "He would be fondly remembered."
