Just showing my Transel train on the bench. Nitro 300A 5 tube, 1 driving 4, sweep tube linear amplifier. I like it because of the looks. It has an oversized meter and knobs and some pretty lights. Other than the looks, its a fairly straight forward sweep tube amp. One thing I don't like about it is all the components and even the tubes are mounted on 1 large PC board. Not only is that a pain to work on, Tubes mounted on a PC board is not a good idea. Next shown, lit up, but not in line, is a Firecracker 50, one tube amp. Just a basic one tuber, with some nice lights, not bad looking, but no thrills and spills. Latest toy, Transel Mark 10 large face 50-500-5k wattmeter. I had been wanting one of these for a while, but they are hard to find. Got one in a local trade. I like the large face, and matching looks with the other Transel items. I also like its Peak and Average, and has a headphone jack. Other than that, just a basic watt and SWR meter. Last, is my little Transel Mark 7 Preamp. It is a pretty good preamp, but to me, still the best by far is my CPI and Ameco preamps. However, I do like a lot the large "On the Air" light on the Transel, plus it matches the other Transel stuff I have. Thats pretty much it for my Transel train. Transel did make some other stuff, a smaller wattmeter, a wattmeter with a scope, kinda like the Blackcat wattmeter/scope, and a rare 600 watt amp that I would like to get hold of, but those are really hard to find. These are not for sale unless someone makes me an offer I can't refuse. As I am getting older, I am doing less buying, a lot less selling, and a lot more keeping. These are keepers for the collection.
