Replacing and Resizing Tapered Diesel Connecting Rod Wrist Pin Bushings Caterpillar Cummins Deere

In this video I replace the tapered wrist pin bushings for the Perkapillar. For the particular style of bushing they use boring is required after install. Install and removal is a bit tricky because of their tapered shape I thought I had filmed the pressing process but it wasn't on the memory card so we will have to cover that another time. In this video I show how I managed to do the job without building a custom fixture. So follow along for some boring and burnishing. Burnishing is a process I rather like as it compacts and smoothes the material creating a long wearing surface but it is rarely done because you have to have many special mandrels for every bore size.
