In this video, I discuss getting my RNC-NIC which is Registered Nurse Certified in Neonatal Intensive Care. It is a certification you can get after having a few years of experience in the NICU. No, it is not required for my job. It is just something nice to have after having more experience and something to put on your resume. There is also the CCRN, but RNC-NIC is more well known in NICU. You have to take an assessment test after you pass and do continuing education requirements based off what the assessment test states you need to focus on.
