Deep in the village, 200km away from the capital of Uganda, we met two sisters living together in a very messy house with their three grandchildren. One sister is 85 years old, and the other is 55 and blind. Despite her age and frailty, the 85-year-old carries the weight of caring for the entire family. When we heard their story, we knew we had to act. We renovated their home, gave them a clean and safe environment, provided enough food to last for months, and supplied them with all the necessities to survive and thrive. We also supported the children with education and school supplies. This is what humanity is about, reaching out to those in need and giving them a reason to believe again.
