💜 Hey there demons - it's me, ya multi 💜 🤠 Twitter:   / spooky_legend   🌈 Tumblr:   / hedonistic-entropy   VIDEO EXPLAINED: The sequence of events, which plays out like an FMV turned BTS Fanfiction: Taehyung is Abraxas/ΑΒΡΑΣΑΞ, a deity (hence the scars from lost or removed wings). “The Gnostic deity Abraxas is used as a symbol throughout the text of Demian, idealizing the interdependence of all that is good and evil in the world. Demian argues that Jehovah, the Jewish God, is only one face of God; it rules over all that is wholesome, but there is another half of the world, and an infinite god must encompass both sides of this world. The symbol of Abraxas appears as a bird breaking free from an egg or a globe.” Abraxas was later considered a false god/deity and deemed a demon. Seokjin is the protagonist who is tempted by Taehyung, who seems to have fun with Seokjin’s temptation and poses as a friend to show him a different world, dark side of what could be, the “other half of the world”. Sequence of Events: As Seokjin walks up to the statue in his temptation, it reveals Taehyung’s truth, the statue cries different colors, revealing what’s inside, the different sides to what could be. Jin looks back, as if contemplating. The next sequence flashes to Jin hovering/struggling over water, which he kisses. There’s a lot of build up over whether or not he should give in to the temptation. Taehyung relishes in this. He wants Jin to give in. It’s entertaining to him. But it cuts to Jin’s face cracking when it was once beautiful and smooth, like porcelain, his hand parting from his body (the tempted) and he can’t do anything about it, can’t even look down as it falls away from him. This is the outcome, his end result, if he gives in. It then shows Jin kissing the statue briefly before it cuts back to Jin looking in the mirror (all of this is a contemplation) where his begins to crack. He decides to move his lips away, caress the face (he still wants to give in but he’s seen the outcome if he does) step back and away, going back in time, forgoing the temptation posed by Taehyung. Seokjin’s eyes covered once more is a retreat back into the safety of ignorance, a sort of “ignorance is bliss” trope. I titled it ‘Kissing Abraxas’ because it was my thought from the very beginning watching Blood, Sweat, and Tears that Taehyung is obviously tempting Seokjin, not the other way around. He is the shadow and the tempter, the angel, and the sin; but also the giver of knowledge in shadow. Jin, although older, has an unaware innocence about him that Taehyung/Abraxas tempts. It is possible he only wishes to give Seokjin knowledge, awareness of this “other side of the world” regardless of the outcome, even if it is calamitous.
