World's Most Scenic Train Ride / Glacier Express In Switzerland

All aboard the Glacier Express known as the most scenic train ride in the world. This panoramic train in Switzerland is a bucket list trip for many people and we were no different. We originally booked a train ticket on the Glacier Express from Zermatt to St-Mortiz but sadly a portion of the track was closed the day of our journey meaning that we had to take a normal train then a bus to Täsh where we finally met with the Glacier Express train. We were in second class where the seat configuration is a 2 by 2 facing each other with a table in the middle. We paid extra to get a four course meal onboard. The meal was very good but felt like a home cooked lunch which was truly not worth the high price paid for. We highly suggest that you skip the meal and bring your own food which is allowed. The service onboard the Glacier Express was sadly not to the level you would expect for such a premium experience. Many people around us had to order food items more than once after being forgotten, the coffee machine was broken and the train ran out of food for people who had not preordered. With that being said, the ride itself was by far the most stunning we had ever scene. The small towns and mountains covered in snow were everything we had expected and more. Switzerland is the true winter wonderland and there is no better way to explore it then onboard the Glacier Express also known as the slowest express train in the world. Make sure to have a look at the Swiss Travel Pass which gives you access to most train in Switzerland inclueing the Glacier Express.
