*UPDATE* As of July 2021, UNESCO removed Liverpool from the World Heritage List! It becomes just the third deleted World Heritage Site, along with the Elbe Valley in Germany and the Oryx Sanctuary in Oman. It's very unusual to have a removed World Heritage Site - watch the video to see what a former World Heritage Site looks like. A walk around the heart of Liverpool, one of the world's most important cities during the height of the British Empire. From here, ships sailed across the globe with cargo and people, spreading British power, wealth and culture. Although these days are long gone, the city still exerts a strong cultural influence through its musical, sporting and theatrical output.
