31 Jan 2024 United Airlines flight UA-575, a Boeing 737-800 with 138 people on board, lost its left engine while en route from Charlotte to Houston. The crew safely diverted to Atlanta, landing about 30 minutes after they reported the issue. Initial reports indicated "a possible engine issue," but further investigation revealed a loss of oil led to the engine shutdown. The aircraft landed safely and emergency services inspected the engine upon arrival.
