Amado Mio - rumba which was made famous by the film interpretation of Gilda (Rita Hayworth) in 1946. Two years later recorded for Mewa-Melodje by Marta Mirska with orchestra directed by Henryk Czyż. Marta Mirska (1920, Warsaw - 1991, Warsaw), a Polish singer popular in the 1940s and 1950s. Her distinctive alto voice was recognized in 1940 Radio Vilnius competition for the singer and she became popular in Poland immediately after World War II. She recorded a number of sides for the Poznań-based Mewa label and later for the Polskie Nagrania. Her best-known song was "Pierwszy siwy włos" (First white hair), Henryk Czyż (1923 - 2003) was a Polish musician with a high reputation for conducting and teaching. Born in Grudziądz. He was also a composer in his own right and wrote a number of books which are highly regarded. He was a champion of Polish contemporary music, particularly Penderecki's, and enjoyed an international reputation, giving concerts in Europe, South America, and the USA. He died in Warsaw. Soon after the War, still as a very young musician, participated in recordings of the pop music and the 1948 recording presented herewith may be a good example of that activity.
