Race without me talking starts at 6:29 Sega's OutRun finaly hits home on the Nintendo 3DS outside Japan. Here's some features making it stand out from the other conversions out there: 1 - 60 frames per second while still maintaining the same speed as the arcade version. 2 - 3D effect is briliant again! The low camera point amplifies that feeling even more. 3 - Lots of things to adjust, like the amount of cars on the road, more or less time to finish the race, and unlockable extras making the race even more easy. Like: High grip tires for maintaining speed when you go off road, Bumbers for less punishment from car/scenery collision, High powered engine for higher top speed, and a new steering wheel for more easy steering. 4 - Arcade mode unlockable. This means the game will run at 30 frames per second. For this mode, you get a new high score table, so you can try to improve your scores on both versions! 5 - 2 new songs that have been played back on the same hardware that was used to create the music from the 1986 version of the game, to make sure that not only the music, but also the sound gives you that 80's feeling, and both of the songs suits the game well. 6 - They recorded all the mechanical sounds from the real arcade cabinet. From hitting the brakes or gas, to pressing the start button, or the steering wheel hitting the limiter. Even the fan that cools the main board from the game can be hear'd! Combine this with the moving cabinets if you prefer to also see a bit of the cabinet, and you feel like being in a arcade hall in the 80's. Now that's a trip down memory lane worth taking again and again. As you can see, more than enough points to make you forget about the fact that Sega lost the Ferarri license, so the car you're driving is not a Testarossa. But to be honest, on such a small screen, and with all the other details to look at, i did not even noticed it at a given time. The Porches have also been slightly changed, as they lost their rear spoiler, to avoid copyright claims from Porche. When it comes to emulation, it is done 100% perfect, and then some. The game play is good, but for some reason this is the first and only 3D remake from those arcade games that makes me prefer using the D pad to steer. But it feels fluid, and not as twitchy as the Nintendo GameBoy Advance version of OutRun on the "Sega Arcade Gallery" game, witch was the best way to experience OutRun on handheld. Enjoy the video, and excusses for the video not being recorded at 60 frames per second, but my camcorder only does 25 fps.
