The US Invasion of Afghanistan was the first of two major US invasions of the War on Terror, the other being the Iraq war, after the infamous September 11th Attacks occurred, the US conducted CIA operations and immediate military action against the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, otherwise known as the Taliban, whom along with Sudan had harbored Al-Qaeda leaders for a few years now, the invasion was a success, but insurgencies would continue on for the rest of the War on Terror.
