#StStephensDay #HungarianFood #BudapestFestival #StreetFood #budapest #travelhungary The Hungarian Flavor Street is the most visited gastronomic tour in Hungary. Its main idea is to present Hungarian products made from Hungarian and Hungarian, mainly Carpathian Basin, ingredients. The goal is diversity, allowing us to understand our cultural traditions in the spirit of the 21st century. It includes the search for and presentation of unique knowledge, the revival of forgotten flavors and techniques. Naturalness is also important: this is how we move from grain and original peasant techniques to the versatility of herbal recipes. The Hungarian Flavor Street (MIU) was founded as a charity event in 2010. Seeing the success of the event, the founders created and registered a protective association that guarantees the basis, goals and expectations of MIU in terms of quality. The special thing about this series of events is that it focuses on the list of products researched and presented, and not only on the companies. Our first category, and the real attraction, is that the special dishes that we research and prepare in the Carpathian Basin can be tasted right at the event venue. We will present not only traditional and special dishes characteristic of the region and the people, prepared with special tools and unique ingredients, but also their creators, such as: cabbage rolls with corn in the Szatmár style, sokacs beans, chango dumplings, felvidéky poppy seed pogacha, Transcarpathian pampuska. Exhibitors presenting the products of Hungarian bakers at gastronomic fairs are selected taking into account the opinions of professional gastronomic organizations, such as the Association of Hungarian Bakers, such as the winner of the national competition "Hungarian Bread" to be held on August 20. Our other founding gastronomic organization, the Association of the Hungarian Confectionery Industry, will present many festive products, such as bagels and ice cream. But the most interesting event will be the prestigious professional competition organized by the Association – the selection of the winner of the annual Hungarian Cake competition, established in honor of the foundation of the state. This is joined annually by the Hungarian Sugar-Free Cake competition, coordinated by the One Drop of Attention Foundation, which is also a member of our Association. The Foundation’s activities are of particular importance for the development of Hungarian gastronomic culture in the 21st century. Our repertoire includes ready-made meals, edible products from small producers and artisans, the best varieties of Hungarian bread, Hungarian pie and Hungarian sugar-free pie.
