This is the approach of the UK Coastguard search and rescue helicopter based at Newquay as it came to rescue a little boy that had slipped from a cliff path on Sunday 4 June. the UK Coastguard received multiple 999 calls at around 12.20pm reporting that a little boy had fallen from an animal track at Pedn Vounder Beach, near Lands End, Cornwall. Penzance, Sennen Cove and Lands End Coastguard Search & Rescue Team, Sennen Cove Lifeboat Station were sent to the scene, as well as the UK Coastguard helicopter. It is believed that the little boy slipped 30ft down the cliff and into the water. A member of the public and a Porthcurno Lifeguard pulled the little boy from the water and onto rocks above the waterline. The remote locations made a land extraction very difficult so the little boy was made comfortable and airlifted by the UK Coastguard helicopter to Treliske Hospital. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he's on the mend soon.
