Figuring out how to approach it was seriously a fun, funny, and rewarding challenge, and we decided to lean into two main things in Mother Goose: the folk element and the abstract insanity of the lyrics. We had a lot of fun trying to sing those crazy lyrics as dead-seriously as possible, as if they were totally normal things to say, like, "and the chicken-fancier came to play!" And of course adding a bunch of heaviness and noise.
