In this video, we take a travel trailer with a tandem axle and we do the over to under axle conversion. We use the Dexter 3 inch over to under axle conversion kit to do this job. We do this video with minimal tools in the driveway to represent how you can do this job at home yourself without a fancy lift or a bunch of jacks. I doing this conversion you’re gonna gain the necessary ground clearance. You need to be able to reach those Boondocking locations doing this conversion. You’re taking the axle from being on top of the leaf springs to now place in underneath which is gonna give you adequate ground clearance and the capability to run bigger tires.
