After leaving Airstream Nuts & Bolts we had every intention of dry camping for 3 nights to test out our new installs. We stayed at China Grove Christmas Tree Farm, which was a great Harvest Host, though the host wasn't around that weekend, they were eager to communicate and let us know what to expect. There were a few dogs on the property that would come around every once in a while, but they didn't bother us other than barking a bit. From China Grove, we were intended to stay at a Harvest Host just 30 minutes down the road, but that didn't quite work out. When we arrived, the property wasn't as described and we were being asked to back into a spot that wasn't comfortable for either of us, so we quickly pivoted and found a KOA just down the road that could get us in for a night. It was great of them to find us space because they were hosting quite a few Hurricane Milton Evacuees and were pretty full. The KOA Ozark was great, but wasn't part of our plan. Sometimes going with your gut means leaving a space behind and moving on. In this case we didn't feel right about it and went somewhere else. On the third night, we stayed at Folklore Brewing in Dothan, Alabama. All we can say about this location is WOW. The hosts were incredible, the drinks were great and the food was delicious. We both had a shrimp poboy that was great and the fries were excellent too. Between the two of us, we sampled 6 different beers and met some folks that taught us their secret drinks which were spectacular (it was the parents of the master brewer, so I guess they get some leniency). We also bought a case of beer because it was just that good. We got to test out our new solar and battery system quite a bit, but Nick left the AC on a bit longer than planned and that drained the battery a little more than we wanted. Next time you are in Dothan, we recommend stopping in on Folklore. Alabama has treated us very well for nearly a month, but our next stop takes us to Georgia and then to Florida!
