The basspart is quite ‘busy’ while the song is rather laid back. Thanks to the very laid back playing of drummer Mick Fleetwood it fits perfectly in the song. The bass plays a lot of eight notes and most of the time the first note of a new bar is played staccato. The change of dotted (staccato/short) notes and more legato notes makes this song very interesting and challenging to play! I’ve tried to place a staccato dot on the notes which are played staccato or muted. John McVie varies a lot especially on the F chord. Interesting how he changes the mainlick on the Am chords after the break in bar 61 en 62. It’s a subtle difference and therefore very nice. At least that’s what I think… I’ve enjoyed doing this song and hope that you will do also if you want to play this basspart. I play this song on a Dean ‘Edge’ bass met EMG pickups. Roundwound strings. Balance bridge/neck pickup is about 70/30. Bass 70% Treble 80%.
