Mountain Bothies are found all over Scotland and they are a great place to stay the night while exploring the more remote areas of the countryside. If you have never been to one there are a few things to know before you go and a few rules that you should stick to when staying in one. I go over what Bothies are, how you use them and what you should expect when you do. If you want to know more about bothies, would like to find one near to where you are going to be or would like to donate to help keep them open go to the mountain bothy association website at https://www.mountainbothies.org.uk/ If you would like to make a donation to help maintain the Southern Upland Way go to dgtrails.org/donate The Southern Upland Way is a 214 mile coast to coast path from Portpatrick on the West Coast of Scotland to Cockburnspath on the east. For more information visit our website at https://dgtrails.org/southern-upland-way. This video was produced by Dumfries and Galloway Council's Southern Upland Way Ranger Service with funding from ScottishPower Renewables Kilgallioch Windfarm.
