I'm talking about exchanging stock magazine baseplates to aftermarket ones (by PTS). It's rather important to do so, because stock, plastic baseplates will easily break and fly off, when you drop mags, while doing quick reloads during a stage. It's almost guaranteed to happen, so subconsciously, you will always try to minimize the damage and instead of doing fast reloads - you'll be thinking on how to reload without doing damage to your mags. Hence, you'll be losing crucial time during the stage. PTS baseplates are roughly $30 for a 3-pack and are made from polymer and TPU rubber end part. I've been using them for some time and they are performing quite well. In the pack, you'll also get 3 mag spring "catches", in case those break off. This might indeed happen, but the baseplates will function regardless, so it's not a big deal. These plates are great, because you can easily detach them from the mag, so if your gas can has a thick nozzle and won't reach the mag valve, it's literally a few seconds of disassembly and you're good to go. Overall, I can easily recommend these baseplates. They're cheaper than aluminum ones and you can order them locally, instead of shipping from China.
