This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan compact SUV. The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan is based on the new MQB evo platform with all new sheet metal, a new exterior and interior design, improved power, revised engine, updated technology, more premium materials, new wheels, colour options and it’s lighter. Fuel economy has improved slightly compared to the outgoing model. The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan gets a 17-horsepower power boost for 2025, it’s powered by a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission, 201 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque, standard AWD in Canada. In the US FWD and AWD options are available. The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan is a little bigger in some areas compared to the outgoing model. Front row legroom remains the same but you do gain 1.5” of second row legroom. Where it falls short in space to the 2024 model is in the cargo area, it is a little smaller. It also no longer offers the optional third row. The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan interior of this top trim Tiguan is beautiful, it definitely feels more upscale. One of my biggest complaints was the small touchscreen the outgoing base model had, only 6.5”. Now Volkswagen has added a standard 12.9” touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto and there is an available 15” touchscreen. Other available features include, a panoramic sunroof, power front seats, driver seat memory, massaging seats, 10-30 colour ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, a 360-camera, 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, head-up display, heated rear seats and a power liftgate. In Canada, the 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan starts at $39,320 CAD, Comfortline $42,820 CAD, Comfortline R-Line Black Edition $46,320 CAD and Highline R-Line $50,320 CAD. In the US, S FWD/AWD $29,495 USD/$30,995 USD, SE FWD/AWD $32,295 USD/$33,795 USD, SE R-Line Black FWD/AWD $35,455 USD/$36,995 USD, SEL R-Line AWD $39,755 USD.
