Apocalyptic Orange-Red Sky Looms Over the Bay Area. Is It Safe?

Bay Area residents woke up Wednesday to a strange, almost apocalyptic orange-red sky that became even more ominous later in the morning as smoke from multiple fires across Northern California continued to smother the area. Many are probably wondering, does this mean it’s unsafe to go outside? Not necessarily, said Jarrett Claiborne, an air quality meteorologist.
